I would like to direct
Tativille's readers to an essay that I have authored for the excellent on-line journal,
Indian Auteur, edited by
Nitesh Rohit. The piece,
"Body and Soul: Pakeezah and the Parameters of Classical Indian Cinema", is an appreciation of my favorite film,
Kamal Amrohi's 1972 masterpiece,
Pakeezah. What else is there to say?
Earlier this year, I also published a much shorter piece in
Senses of Cinema on
Tiger Shark (1932), directed by my favorite Hollywood auteur,
Howard Hawks.
